Emma and Matt did not let COVID-19 stand in the way of becoming husband and wife! They had this day planned for so many months, and they were not about to let ANYTHING stop them. With the help of their planner, Carlson’s Premier Events, they came up with an awesome plan! Rather than reschedule all of it, they decided to hold their ceremony and small reception on their family farm in Clyo which belonged to Emma’s grandfather. Riverfield Plantation was breathtakingly beautiful, a photographer’s dream, and a perfect venue for this intimate wedding. Unfortunately Matt’s entire family as well as some of the wedding party couldn’t attend. The good news is, the main reception with all the guests and full wedding party will be in August at Savannah Station, which was to be the original venue for the whole day! To me it sounds so perfect, they get dressed up and get to celebrate twice! What girl wouldn’t want that?
I had the honor of photographing these two cuties at Bethesda Academy for their engagement session. Oh my word, it was breathtaking. You can see their beautiful photos in this blog post! They really toughed out some almost freezing weather, and we were all dreaming of the warmer May day when they would be married. Well here it is and it did not disappoint!
The grand entrance to the gorgeous home. The door alone was a good 10 feet tall.
Emma’s mom presented her with this special gift for her bouquet, which includes a piece of her own wedding dress!
All the pretty details, including this penny to go in Emma’s shoe.
Sweet little love note from her groom.
First look with the bridesmaids will always be one of my favorite parts of the day!
Thanks to my second shooter Aundrea for getting these great shots of the guys!
Daddy’s little girl! Probably the sweetest first look with dad I’ve ever captured!
Isn’t she lovely!!
Such a gorgeous job by James and Angela from Carlson’s Premier Events!
You wouldn’t know from these photos, but Matt actually didn’t care too much for photo time!
Almost time!!!
Oh how I love when a man isn’t afraid to show his emotions. OK, maybe he didn’t really have a choice!
They did it!!!
Beautiful wedding cakes made by Emma’s family. I was lucky enough to try them both and they were DELICIOUS!
A mask shot was mandatory!
Matt and the girls, and a key lime cheesecake made by a family friend. That, also, was absolutely wonderful. Yep, you might say I have a bit of a sweet tooth!
The night wouldn’t be complete without a humongous Yukon Denali Stretch! Call Greg with Southern Comfort Limousine and he’ll hook you up!
As I write this, Matt and Emma are honeymoonin’ in Panama City! Can’t wait to see them soon, for the grand finale!
My heart goes out to so many brides who are postponing, or even cancelling their big events altogether. The most important thing is they WILL be married, one way or another, and THAT will be the sweetest memory down the road. It doesn’t matter where, or how many guests, or what was on the menu. The most important thing is that moment you say “I do”. The. Best. Feeling.
